President Obama-The Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president
President Obama let everybody know how he really feels about Donald Trump applying for the job of the president of the United States.
Yesterday during a press conference, the president told reporters that he doesn’t believe Trump has the intelligence, moral fortitude, and discipline to be the highest ranking representative of the United States of America.
President Obama bluntly said to the press, “The Republican Nominee is unfit to serve as president. I said so last week. And he keeps on proving it. The notion that he would attack a gold star family that had made such extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of our country. The fact that he doesn’t appear to have basic knowledge around critical issues in Europe, in the Middle East, in Asia, means that he’s woefully unprepared to do this job.”
President Obama’s comments were a response to Trump’s disparaging comments about Humayun Khan’s parents, Khizr and Ghazala Khan.
Khan and his parents are American citizens who are of the Islamic faith. Humayun Khan attended the University of Virginia and served in the U.S. Army.
Humayun Khan was killed by an IED as he approached a vehicle. His soldiers, who Khan told to stand back, survived.
Humayun Khan was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart posthumously. Trump has consistently made disparaging comments about the Muslim faith and has called for a religious test for those who come from countries where people of the Islamic faith are the majority.
During the Democratic Convention, Khizr Khan questioned Trump’s knowledge about the U.S. Constitution and its application to all Americans.
Mr. Khan held up the constitution and told Trump that he will gladly give him his copy. Mr. Khan’s comments did not go over too well with Trump.
Trump tweeted, “I was viciously attacked by Mr. Khan at the Democratic Convention. Am I not allowed to respond. Hillary voted for the Iraq war, not me.”
Trump also insinuated that the Khan’s were no different than the radical Islamic terrorist the U.S. and its allies are fighting.
As evidence, Trump pointed to Mrs. Kahn’s silence on the stage. Trump insinuated that Mrs. Khan’s silence was due to her Islamic faith and not to her overwhelming grief over the loss of her son.
In an article for the New York Times, Mrs. Khan responded to Trump’s comment and said that her silence was due to her grief and not to her husband silencing her.
Trump’s response to the Khan’s has resulted in him receiving backlash from both sides of the aisle. Sen. John McCain, whom Trump said was not worthy of respect because he was captured, said that Trump’s comments about the Khan’s were “disparaging.”
Hewlett-Packard President and CEO Meg Whitman said told that Trump’s behavior is why she will be voting for Hillary Clinton.
Three Democratic congressmen, who are veterans, wrote a letter to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan urging him to end his endorsement of Donald Trump.
Along with his disparaging comments about the Khan’s, Trump has been questioned about his lack of knowledge about international politics.
Trump said that he would stop supporting the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and force the United States’ allies to pay the U.S. in order to defend them.
The Republican Party presidential nominee also said that Saddam Hussein knew how to handle terrorist and that he respected the Chinese for the way they handled protesters during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protest.
Trump has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well, for being a “strong leader.”
Trump also said that he hopes the Russians, who are believed to have hacked into the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) computer system, finds Hillary Clinton’s emails and shares them with the public.
Last night during an interview on FOX News’ “The O’Reilly Factor,” Trump told host Bill O’Reilly that President Obama is “the worst president in the history of this country” and it is for that reason that he [Trump] is not swayed by President Obama’s comment that he isn’t fit to be president.
